Sometimes I feel like a dog, head out the window in a moving car, senses primed, enjoying life’s ride,

when suddenly there’s an impulse to leap out to a scene, a story, an idea and fetch it.

Anything can set me off... The BEAUTIFUL DISPLAYS OF NATURE, HUMANS BEING THEMSELVES, ENVIRONMENTAL or SOCIAL CONCERNS, and on and on.

For me, transforming that impulsive leap into fetching back a work of art is the real trick of the creative process. Sustaining the momentum to forge ahead, no matter the obstacle, requires an assemblage of

elastic time and grounded materials, all energized by inspiration.

Early on I was encouraged to be versatile rather than to specialize in one particular style or subject matter.

I felt that if I was to call myself a REAL ARTIST I should be able to ‘do it all’ by offering creative services that

had 'something for everybody’ in a variety of media.

That aim informed my drive for learning and opened me up to a mix of experiences, expanding me as a human

as well as an artist. I've come to know that the possibilities for creativity are infinite and sourced far beyond any category or car window. It's a beautiful ride.
